Shanty Town - Pop 1

Lucky me - this summer I was a participant in the Hands on History Session at Pilchuck Glass School. It was a ten day adventure in the forest of Stanwood Washington. Pilchuck is always an amazing experience and this session was no exception to that rule. I saw good friends, great glassworking and had the chance to stay in the only shanty left on campus (it comes complete with its own burgeoning population of mice)

The studio building was filled with enamels and busy students painting on all types of glass.

No matter how often I take this shot it never does justice to just how beautiful the view from the lodge is.

As with many years past the final days of Pilchuck summer are marked by the staff and friends Christmas Party.
